The ELEMENTAL Man

A one-day mountain retreat to remember the strength of the man beneath the mask.

August 2nd - Ben Lawers, Perthshire

Co-led by Stephen Clarke & Dr. Joe Anderson

This is not just a hike.
It’s a reclamation.

You’ll climb physical terrain - but the real journey is inward.

Because most men spend their life reaching for the next summit —
status, success, significance -
while silently carrying the weight of anxiety, disconnection, and not-enoughness.

"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation- Henry David Thoreau.

courageous inward adventure

THE ELEMENTAL MAN is for the man who’s ready to stop running,
and start remembering.

Through the wildness of nature, the clarity of the climb,
and a powerful fusion of shamanic body coaching, breath-work, and embodied truth-telling,
you’ll take stock of who you’ve become…
and meet the man underneath it all.

This is a courageous inward adventure -
into your body, your breath, your buried power.

A full-spectrum initiation back to your grounded masculine core.

Because the world doesn’t need more men chasing the next goal.
It needs grounded men who stand rooted in truth,
and lead from who they are, not who they think they should be.

You Don’t Need More Motivation.

You Need to Feel Yourself Again.

We created THE ELEMENTAL MAN because we know the hollow feeling of living a life that looks right - but doesn’t feel true.

Our stories are different but there is a common thread - we were doing everything we were taught a man should do -

Providing. Performing. Pushing forward.
But deep down, we could feel it:

This isn’t it.

We weren't grounded and fully empowered in who were were always meant to be.

Just versions shaped by expectation, not embodiment.

We've both felt the chaos of a mind we couldn't slow down.

Lived with the pressure to hold it all together while silently cracking inside.

And being honest - worn masks so well we started to forget they were masks at all.

But we also felt what happens when a man gets quiet enough, still enough,
to hear the truth rising from his body.

It’s not found in a book.
Not unlocked in a podcast.
It lives in your breath, your bones, your boots (or bare feet) on the ground.

That’s why we created this day.

Because every man deserves to feel who he really is -
without the noise, the performance, or the pressure.

This Is Not a Hike for Your Ego

this is a journey back to yourself.

Out in the wild.
With your feet on the earth, sweat on your brow, and truth in your gut.

We'll climb a mountain together - not to escape life -
but to meet it more fully.

Because the higher you climb,
the deeper you drop -
into the body,
into the breath,
into the man beneath the mask.

THIS IS FOR THE MAN WHO:

Feels the pressure to keep it all together
but knows something real is missing.
Is done chasing approval and ready for raw, unfiltered strength.
Feels the call to slow down, drop in, and remember who he is.
Has “succeeded” on the surface but feels unfulfilled inside.
Craves silence, space, and realness.
Is ready to stop performing and start remembering.

You don’t need to be “ready.”
You just need to be honest.

This is not therapy.
Not a seminar.
Not some performance of masculinity.

It’s a remembering—
back to your breath,
your truth,
and your place in this world.

The world doesn’t need more men chasing false summits.
It needs grounded men who remember who they are -
and stand there.

What the Day Looks Like

THE GROUND — Arrival & Intention
We open in circle.
Drop into our breath, into our bodies, into why we came.
What are you ready to meet in yourself?

THE CLIMB — The Ascent
As we ascend the trail, we guide you through three key thresholds:
The Mask You Wear — the identity you’ve built to be accepted, loved or even celebrated.
The Weight You Carry — the fears, grief, burdens or pressure that hold the mask in place.
The Truth Beneath It All — the grounded, untamed self that’s been waiting to lead
We move.
We reflect in silence.
We speak with integrity.

THE PEAK — Summit Ceremony
At the top, we breathe.
We drum.
We speak what’s been buried.
We release what’s ready to die.
Then, we descend -
lighter, clearer, more rooted than we arrived.

THE RETURN — Integration at Base
We close in circle.
Anchor the vision of the man who’s ready to walk forward.
